Your charter data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage technology. This means your data stays on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. For security, we recommend regularly exporting important charters as PDFs. Note that clearing your browser data will remove your saved charters.
Since data is stored locally in your browser, charters created on one device won't automatically appear on another. To transfer charters between devices, export them as PDFs or use the data export feature in Settings. We're working on cloud sync for a future update.
The free plan includes access to the charter creation tool with the ability to create up to 3 charters. You get access to basic templates and PDF export. Upgrade to a paid plan for unlimited charters, all templates, and premium features.
Once you've completed your charter, click the "Export PDF" button in the top right corner. You can also access this from the Preview section (Step 10). The PDF will be formatted professionally with your project branding and all sections properly organized.
Yes! Your charter remains editable in CharterPro even after exporting. Simply go to your Dashboard, find the charter, and click "Edit". Make your changes and export a new PDF. The exported PDF itself cannot be edited, but your source charter can always be modified.
CharterPro supports four main project types: Software/IT Projects, Construction Projects, Creative/Marketing Projects, and Business Process Projects. Each type comes with tailored templates, relevant fields, and industry-specific examples to help you create the most effective charter for your project.
You can cancel your subscription anytime from Settings > Subscription. Click "Cancel Subscription" and follow the prompts. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period. Your existing charters will remain accessible, but you'll be limited to the free plan features after cancellation.
While CharterPro is designed primarily for traditional project charters, it can be adapted for Agile projects. Use it to create a lightweight project charter or "project vision" document that outlines high-level objectives, stakeholders, and initial scope. The flexible format allows you to focus on the sections most relevant to your Agile approach.
